Abstract

In this paper, we present a new distinguisher for HC-128 which is the best known so far. The distinguisher requires approximately $2^{138}$ keystream words with success probability 0.9772.

Note: We found a flaw in the proof of the distinguisher and could not recover it yet. Thus the distinguisher does not stand in its present form.
