On the bijectivity of the map χ

Abstract

We prove that for n>1 the map χ:FqnFqn, defined by y=χ(x) with yi=xi+xi+2(1+xi+1) for 1in, is bijective if and only if and is odd, as it was conjectured by Schoone and Daemen in 2023.
